Baby J is due in early March 2017, and there is so many things we need to prepare before her arrival!
Here are a few items that we have on the list, and many more to come:
1.Braun Thermoscan 7 IRT6520 Thermometer
Braun's Thermoscan 5 was listed as one of the best thermometers for infants on: "http://parent.guide/best-baby-thermometer-the-expert-buyers-guide/", so I reckon the newer model should be even better. It is also priced much cheaper on Amazon (US$59.90) than in retail stores at Singapore (RTP:S$169).
2.Tula Ergonomic Carrier - Arbol, Black/White, Baby
My husband prefers to go hands free. Even when we travel as a couple, he rather we pack everything up in a bagpack than lug around a luggage. Took me some time to be a true convert, but it is indeed much less of a hassle moving around especially when it is crowded! Hence, it was a clear choice to get a baby carrier. We decided to get Tula after reading all the reviews and it seems to fit my narrow shoulders well. We went ahead with this design as its unisex and the hubby will not look out of place wearing something girly. This is the canvas wrap, and there are a few other types of wraps you can consider.
As this is only suitable for infants 6 months older, do grab a Tula Infant Insert if you intend to bring your baby out before that age.
There are of course other designs that are more girly and cutesy you can consider if your hubby is OK with them.
3.Medela Freestyle Breast Pump
Some might think breast pump is not an essential item if you are going to do direct latching or not breastfeed at all. But what if you feel engorged and need to clear those blocked milk ducts, or if you baby has nipple confusion and does not want to latch. This is a must according to my mummies friends and hence its on the list even though it's so pricey. You don't want to stress yourself out or your husband on the first week after delivery, having to run to the stores to get them while coping with parenthood and all the hormonal imbalance.
4.Joie Stages Group 0+/1/2 Car Seat - Birth to 7 Years (Salsa) by Joie
I personally think what brand and type is up to your preference. We got this Joie stages car seat because we wanted it to last longer. Car seats are compulsory for infants to toddlers and we decided to invest in something that can last till Baby J becomes Kid J. This was also highly recommended by a relative whom has 2 toddlers, so we did not bother to do much research on it.

Shampoo for my thin looking hair
My brother has been making bi-monthly work trips to US, and what better excuses do we have then to buy more stuff!
So during his trip last month, i ended up stocking up on my shampoo collection again. This brand Lanza was recommended by my hairstylist and I have been using it along with the hair serum and conditioner that I bought from the salon itself.
There is quite a wide range suited for different scalps, and naturally for me with the hair loss issue, my stylist recommended me to use L'Anza Healing Nourish Stimulating Sulfate-Free Shampoo For Thin-Looking Hair
This was how the package came, and in my brother's words: "Your shampoo's made of gold? The packaging is quite exaggerated."
Hilarious. But who complains about a well protected package? :D I bought the biggest bottle I can find since this is a tried and test product for me. But for beginners, you can always start from a small bottle.
This can be used with the conditioner and the stimulating treatment in the same range. I love the minty tingling sensation the serum gives, which makes me feel like my scalp might really be undergoing some serious form of stimulation. "Grow hair grow!" I bought 3 bottles with 2 for my mum and sister whom are suffering from hair loss as well. My mum finds it too stimulating for her liking, so I guess it really depends on own preference.
I personally find this as a much cheaper option in comparison to Shiseido Professional The Hair Care Adenovital Scalp Essence, and is good for the budget conscious.
We also got for my dad a new Seiko watch (Seiko Men's SNE331 Sport Solar Analog Display Japanese Quartz Beige Watch). Somehow even Qoo10 SG sells it at a higher premium.
Since there was a 3 yr Seiko warranty, it seems like a rather good deal.

Kfit Singapore Review
I have been in search for a good fitness class to join since I moved to my new place.
And I decided to try out Kfit, which is a monthly membership with access to unlimited group fitness classes and activities across Singapore.
Every month, you pay $99 to have access to 443 fitness partners and try all kinds of activities.
Basically, you get to:
Try a new activity every day: Gyms, yoga, pilates, crossfit, Zumba, kickboxing, dance, outdoor exercise…. and many more. They have places like Core Synergy Studio, Bikram Yoga Katong, Aqua Spin and classes ranging from Muay Thai to inline skates and even pole dancing.
Workout on your own terms. Access classes and activities anytime, anywhere. There’s no cap on the number of classes you can attend, but there are limits on the number of visits per studio each month.
You get $60 off for the first month if you sign up now using my referral code: https://kfit.com/invite/sapo9.
So this means you only need to pay $39 for the 1st month of membership! If you go for a class every week, it will only cost less than $10 for each class. Super worth it right!
If you don't like this program after the first month, you can always choose to cancel it without a cancellation fee. But do remember to do it 7 working days before the end of the month!
Once you choose to cancel your membership, you will be downgraded to the KFit Basic plan. You will not be charged on Basic, but will still be able to book one class each monthly cycle for free.
So seriously, I dont see any harm in trying. Pull in your friends as well. (: Cos exercise is definitely more fun doing with friends and is a great form of bonding!
