It has been approximately 1 months since I started on Clarisonic Mia.
A little introduction on what Clarisonic Mia does:
Traditional methods of cleansing don’t get your skin as clean as you’d think. Using Sonic Technology, Clarisonic’s patented micro-massage motion works within skin’s natural elasticity to gently remove the impurities traditional methods leave behind--leaving skin softer, smoother and more beautiful.
- Cleanses 6x better than with your hands alone in just 60 seconds
- Works with skin, not against it, to gently massage away impurities trapped within pores
- Prepares skin for better absorption of creams, serums and moisturizers
- Gentle enough to use 2x a day
So after using it on alternate nights for 1.5 weeks, my skin started to get really sensitive and red. It even hurts when I put sunblock on my face. My sister had a different set of results, her face felt really clean and her pores felt tighter. It was then I gave it a strong thought on what went wrong with me. Then I realised I might have been exerting too much strength when using it.
So when I was travelling in the West Coast 2 weeks back, I bought the Mia 2 at USD139 before taxes on Sephora.com. Free shipping is what I simply adore in the States. (: and if we are willing to spend over a hundred on a facial, whats a few hundred bucks for this machine that is supposed to clean 6 times better than manual cleaning.
I started the cleansing routine again after returning from the States - this time just lightly grazing my skin with it.
A week from now, I can see some subtle results. My pores on my cheeks are smaller and the products I slapped on my face seem to absorb much better and faster. Pimples still pop up now and then, but I am thinking it is because of the chlorine from the pool that I have been visiting twice a week.
My skin is really sensitive, and using the Sensitive Brush Head that comes with the set will bring more harm than good. Hence, i would think it is better to start on the Delicate Brush Head for those with sensitive skin like mine!
Now, cross my fingers and hope for better skin after the intial purging period! (:
